Level 1 – Foundations of Early Childhood Education

Duration: Up to 39 Hours

This level introduces learners to the foundational principles of early childhood education, focusing on child development, the role of the ECEA, and professional responsibilities within early learning environments.

  • Introduction to Early Childhood Education & Role of ECEA
  • Child Growth and Development (Physical, Cognitive, Social, Emotional)
  • Professional Ethics, Communication, and Workplace Expectations

Level 2 – Supporting Learning Environments and Daily Practice

Duration: Up to 39 Hours

This level focuses on practical aspects of supporting children in early learning settings, including health, safety, routines, and play-based learning approaches.

Admission Requirements For ECEA

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status
  • Basic proficiency in English (reading, writing, and communication)
  • Basic computer literacy to participate in program activities
